ShortGo Saddlery
"Saddles Built to Last a Lifetime"
ABOUT US
ShortGo Saddlery is owned and operated by Mike and Tammy Peterson of Kilgore, Nebraska. Our shop is at the ranch which is located in the beautiful Sandhills of northern Nebraska. We are fourth generation ranchers who have also actively competed in the rodeo arena since childhood.
Mike built his first saddle in 1993. At the time, he was competeing in saddle bronc riding in the midwest area. Unable to find a saddle that "fit" the way he thought it should, he set out to design "his" bronc saddle. This saddle proved itself in the arena and by 1996 ten of the top twelve MSRA bronc riders were using it. Mike's design continues to take cowboys to the pay window today.
With Mike also working the calf roping and team roping events, Tammy running barrels, and daughter Jyme competing in all womens events, Mike expanded his interest in saddle design. Saddles built for these events as well as the ranch cowboy have evolved. The saddles built today are the result of many years of our own knowledge as well as input from some of the most trusted horsemen and horsewomen of the area. Champions from all events as well as the working cowboy are now using ShortGo Saddles.
A note from Mike:
"At ShortGo Saddlery, I strive to build equipment that is pleasing to the eye but above all is functional for its intended purpose. I personally build and select all components of every saddle or piece of equipment. Whether you are looking for a ranch, roping, barrel, or bronc saddle, I will build it with quality workmanship to your specifications."
